President’s Corner
January 2009
The Wine Tasting Dinner and Auction is looming in February. Becky sent an idea list for the auction and I can only stress the importance of coming through for her and your club. This has become our signature event and it grows in popularity and scope each year. The tickets are $65 for an evening to remember. I recall another org’s auction that I attended annually; it was the source of my baseball tickets and paraphernalia.
The slate of officers are Mark Church, President; Leigh Perry, Vice-president, John Coots, Treasurer, Glenn McCauley, Secretary, and John Seely, Sargeant at Arms. The Treas, Sec, and Sgt at Arms are willing to do the job one more year, at least.
Having people hold an office for more than one term makes a lot of sense. It takes most of the fall to get the job in tow and then it is smoother sailing for the rest of the year. I would remind everyone that the real work of the club is in the committees, projects, fund raising, programs, public relations, and working in/on the service projects as a volunteer. Office is nice, but we need your efforts on the front line in the committees. That’s why we appreciate the efforts of the committee chairs week after week as they report.
Until Tuesday, wish you all of the best.
John Lina
